Thanksgiving…

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving. Ours was pretty nice. We spent the day cooking and hanging out. No big deal but it was nice to have Dan home and just do nothing. We had a feast and talked to all our family on the phone. David made it to CT and is getting settled in there. I am sure he is happy that boot camp is over!

I haven’t posted anything because last week I got a new laptop and I have been moving everything over to the new one. Today we finally finished cleaning my old one up and put in the mail to someone who is very much in need of a new computer! He has no idea we are sending it so he should have a big suprise once it arrives. I can’t wait!

Not many

I spent a little time today reading several blogs that I haven’t visited in a while and found this on Autumn’s Blog.

While there are no people who have my exact name here is a little information provided about my first name only!

There are 623,935 people in the U.S. with the first name Pamela.
Statistically the 77th most popular first name.
More than 99.9 percent of people with the first name Pamela are female. Huh?

a little news

Wow ok so today Dan’s younger brother graduated from boot camp! Honestly, the last person I ever expected to join the military. None the less amazing! He is doing really well so far and I am very happy for him.

The rain has finally decided to take a break around here! I thought I was being shot the other day when I had to go out to the post office and send out some mail. I don’t think it had ever rained like that since we moved here. I mean come on this is Washington so rain is a given but…that was more like a good old South Florida rainstorm than a laid back Northwest mist. I am glad to say that the new roof and skylights are working very nicely. We have waited a while to have a good bit of rain for the final test but I would have to say after the last week or two it is official that all is good.

when pianos try to be guitars

Have you every really thought about all the time we spend in life trying to be what we aren’t? Chances are when we do this we think we are doing it for our self. The truth is we do this for others. We do this more often than we think we do and even when we don’t realize it. It is time spent wasted no matter how we try to rationalize it.

I know this is very random even for me. Think about it…I mean really think about it.

we made it…

Our trip was wonderful! It started off slow with a delay at the airport but no shock there. Once we arrived in San Diego we rented a car and were headed for
Santa Monica! We ended up slightly lost on the way. However, Dan did really well considering he hasn’t driven that in quite some time. We arrived to warm, dry weather! Overall the weather was great for the whole trip. We shopped on Third Street, went to a surprise birthday party, and I have to say we had the most amazing time when we spent a alone day at
Magic Mountain.

Dan was also able to enjoy some of his favorite unhealthy food from home! Any native of California will without doubt have eaten here! I have to admit that personally am not that fond of it but my husband is like a child on Christmas morning when it comes to this. Really the big thing is their very on “special sauce” which is the part I don’t like.

We went to UCLA to have lunch with his Dad and had a wonderful time. We were forced to sneak around a bit due to the fact that his step-mother had no idea we were in town until we showed up at her surprise birthday party. Trust me it was a surprise….especially seeing us there.

We ended up driving back to San Diego a day early and staying in a hotel there. I am so glad we did because it just so happen that I was able to do a tour of the boat (sub) that my husband is currently working on! It is VERY different from the last one he was on so it was pretty cool to actually see it.

The last day we returned the rental car and took their shuttle to the airport. Dan hung out there with me for a while and then once it was time to go he got a ride back to work and I was on a plane bound for home. It was so strange to come home to an empty house with out my dog-boys. I was up early the next morning to pick them up from the vet where they were boarded. I missed them so much and they were so happy to see me!

So I have spent the last few days just trying to get caught up on emails. I came home to about 800 total. However, most of these ended up being junk mail! Sorting through it all is work I tell you. Hopefully I didn’t end up deleting anything important but if I did I am sure I’ll hear about it. My only regret is that we didn’t really take any pictures. We were so busy the whole time running around we just didn’t take any.

We did a ton of shopping and a good part of it was done at Gap buying product (red) stuff! Including an awesome limited addition book that is available. I encourage anyone and everyone to take part on this cause! If you haven’t heard about it click the link to learn more. This holiday season is the perfect time! I’ll post more on this later but please check it out!

And last but not least we spent some time here star stalking! I think this is actually my favorite place.
